Ross's Gull has only been found two times in our state. The first one in 1994 and this bird found by Jeff Heinlen on Dec 15. This is a MEGA Rare bird for the lower 48.

Absolutely splendid, such an original capture, with the reflection which reveals the bird, while the wings hide it. Really I’m speechless; it’s the best photo of a bird I have seen for a long time. It’s vibrant and original, all my congratulations!

Fantastic pair of images beautifully illustrating this rarity. I hear the old fart removed the deer carcass it was feeding on in the lake. That must have been a wet, cold, and VERY smelly job just for the sake of spite.
