March 26 2005:
Canal Festival

The town now hosts a small canal festival every year.

I shouldn¡¦t criticise it, but the layout and position of the sun does not make it ideal for photography. Makes a note: go out in the countryside and enjoy photographing the barges in a more natural habitatƒº

Photoshop:
Cropped and Resized
Converted to Grayscale
Duotoned using Pantone 125C
Adjusted in Curves

Here’s the colour version...

This time last year they were ‘All Heading for Lara’

I prefer this one over the colored one. Also love the mood of the picture

There are four of us, lifetime friends approaching retirement. We have dreams & this is one of them...sigh !!

Looks like a scene from a hundred years ago (just a guess as I'm not quite that old...). Super image Ray!

the b+w looks great, like a Victorian scene, but I prefer colour pictures myself, so Id choose the colour, nice shots

I prefer the b&w, is timeless!

I like both, but I love the multitude of colours as it gives it more activity. I am sure we will be getting down there tomorrow. we've never heard of it.

Actually the shadows and light are what I like most about this picture!
Well done.

It does seem strange to hold it in such a confined looking area.... I do like the duotone treatment that you have given it.

Never heard of this - another photographic possibility! Like the duotone treatment of the picture - captures the atmosphere really well.

I was just wondering when that festival was on again.
I went to Wisley, the words 'Piccadilly & Circus' come to mind re the crowds there!
Good shot Ray, you made the most of a difficult shooting situation.

It has a lovely dreamy look to it.

Interesting photo. I'd like to see it in color.
