This Hertfordshire village is very pleasant but I don't think it has any special claim to fame, except that is one of my 'ancestral villages'. It seems John Curd, an ancestor of my father's mother who was born with that same surname, was married in the village around 1769.
Perhaps its a little disappointing to note that by the time this pub opened, in 1849, my Curds had moved to London. However, the left hand two structures that make up today's pub were back then cottages. I'm unsure bout the true age of the single storey building!
