The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu was founded in 1952 by the 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu as a tribute to his father, one of the pioneers of motoring in the UK.
Originally, the museum contained just 5 cars and a small collection of automobilia, displayed in the front hall of Lord Montagu's ancestral home. Over the years, it
has grown to around 250 vehicles produced since the late 19th century and it is now housed in a dedicated building opened in 1972. The museum is now run by the
National Motor Museum Trust Ltd. a registered charity.

There is not a lot of room around many of the cars in the museum, necessitating the use of a very wide angle zoom lens, which results in the curious distortions in some images!
