Basel: the Predigerkirche, originally built in the 13th century as a monastic church of the Dominican order. It was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1356,
and subsequently rebuilt and extended, with a stone bell tower added in 1423. Flooding in 1529 destroyed most of the interior and the monastery was dissolved.
From the 17th century, the building was used for storage of fruit and salt. The buildings were demolished in 1857 and the church rebuilt in the 1970s to serve
the Christian Catholic community.
