Corroboree Billabong, part of the Mary River wetlands, is situated between Darwin and Kakadu.
Here we took a 1 hour boat cruise which proved to be great value - we were lucky to get great
close views of wildlife such as Saltwater Crocodiles and Jabiru (Black Necked Stork) plus other wetland birds in their natural environment.
Water lillies were abundant in sections, and we got to glide through these aquatic plants
at times. I also got to sample the kernels of lotus plants (taste a bit like pine nuts).
These wetland cruises run between April and December (closed during main Wet Season).
A cruise of these picturesque Top End wetlands is something I would definitely do again!
