We returned to Yellowstone in the fall 2010, almost exactly two years after our last visit. It was as wonderful and wild as we remembered, except for the fact that there seemed to be more visitors this time. The elk were still in rut the first of October, but the weather was unseasonably warm so we saw somewhat less wildlife than before. One morning in Hayden Valley we were treated to the sight of three wolves trying to stalk some wary elk, although the viewing distance was probably at least 1/2 mile. We enjoyed photographing the thermal features and managed a great panorama of Grand Prismatic Springs from the top of a small hill overlooking this feature. We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed making them.
