Lots of people like to show off their acquisitions here. Okay... So do I! This credit-crunch-friendly baby cost less than lunch buffet in Pizza Hut, and arrived in a recycled Whiskas Box. Who needs the latest all-singing, all dancing DSLR? It will be old news in three years time, whereas this one is almost as old and as resilient as my mother, although a little smoother looking and with less bling.
Geeky bit: Vito CL is one of the range of Vito C cameras which were manufactured by the Voigtlander company of Braunschweig, Germany. The C series was a redesigned and restyled camera range which first appeared in 1960 and included many of the features of the Vito B range. This one is fitted with a f2.8 Color-Skopar, which is a clone of the Zeiss Tessar lens. Being one of the oldest optical companies in the world, Voigtlaender had a somewhat colourful history, being part of Zeiss-Ikon and Rollei in the 1960's to 1970's.
