 Galle Monument...

A monument to Fred Galle was dedicated on April 5, 2002 at the Overlook Garden in Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain GA. Fred was the head horticulturist at Callaway for 30 years, and is responsible for the general appearance of the garden today. Fred also wrote the monumental Azaleas book.

Around 40 invited guests attended the dedication, where he was remembered by the four friends pictured below. Ernest Koone aptly closed his talk with Sir Christopher Wren's epitaph "If you would see his monument, look around."
