June 17, 2004

Union Station in this evening's thunderstorm. The lens fogged up when I pulled it out. It's so cold in air conditioned buildings and subways and so humid outside. I finally just wiped it off with my shirt sleeve. (Just kidding!!) The white building in the distance is a Senate office building. It's probably Hart.

When one usually sees a photo of a flag STANDING OUT at the top of the mast it seems appropriate to see these looking so sad for themselves.

...well, this is a very nice composition with the weight of the wall balanced by the three flagpoles spaced as they are...and I like the tilted view that really lends movement and perspective.

Yup, it is kind of a dreary scene.

the flags seem so sad ....just hanging there, as if in a state of depression
