Our development was once a very large farm; complete with two ponds.
This is the larger of the ponds and is visible from the street and several of our neighbors back yards. Their houses and the natural slope of the land block the view from our front yard.
This is the other pond http://www.pbase.com/britestar/image/125752020 that we can see from our back door.
We almost bought that land in additon to the 4 acres we now own. In hind sight, I wish we had. But that would have given us 16 acres of land; which was more than my husband wanted to take care of.
I walked the entire development today. It was a 2 1/2 mile round trip: door to door.
All the homes sit on lots of 3 to 10 acres. The lay of the land is rolling hills. So I have a great place to walk for exercise without ever really leaving the neighborhood.
Fall is in the air. After an oppressive Summer, things are started to green up again while they also start to turn to Fall colors. Life is good.
