Sometimes I come back to the same place again and again, simply because the feeling of the place is magical. This location in Oak Creek Canyon is one such place. You’ll actually find 5 shots in my Pbase galleries taken within 10 feet of where this photograph was taken! The contrast and harmony of the two foreground rocks is what originally attracted me to this composition, so I played with exposure and composition until I found what I liked: long exposure to blur the water, and tight cropping around the rocks to emphasize their presence. In Photoshop I’ve combined this image with a blurred copy to add a ‘dreamy’ feel to it and increase the saturation – though I’m not completely satisfied with the results, I’ll have to go with this version for now.
