Home of the Wildcats
Built in stages beginning in 1929 by architect Roy Place, one of the facilities housed under the bleachers is the Steward Mirror Lab which builds the largest monolithic telescope mirrors in the world. It's run by the University of Arizona's Steward Observatory.
A recent project was the making of lenses for the Large Binocular Telescope that now sits atop Mt. Graham.
