U.S. Route 66 (US 66 or Route 66), in it's hay day was better known as the 'Will Rogers Highway' and colloquially known as the 'Main Street of America' or 'The Mother Road'
A drive through Oatman, Seligman, Kingman, Williams, Winslow, Holbrook, Hackberry & Truxton, Arizona and Amboy and Needles, CA. And you really do have to 'search' for the remains of the original 'Route 66'; it's been removed from modern maps, sliced, diced, torn up and replaced by Hwy 40 in many sections. Fortunately, there are websites with maps, history, even turn-by-turn directions that will aid in this.
"If you ever plan to motor west Travel my way, the highway that's the best. Get your kicks on Route 66!" - song lyrics by Bobby Troup
