The start of the 17-mile drive in the foreground. Believe me, you do not want to drive your own car on this road. People do, and after the first mile, many of them turn around. The road has deep pits, bumps, deep, soft sand that snares a lot of cars leaving them in need of a tow. Even if you have a high clearenece vehicle or better yet a 4 x 4, you're going to end up with red dirt in your air filters, AC filters, your carpet, etc.
I'm asuming the bone heads who tried this with all their windows open were in rentals. You'd be blanketed in red dust.
