Athena is a very ancient, white hoodoo made from two types of rock. It's tall, slender build makes it one of the most beautiful hoodoos in the world.

The capstone of the hoodoo is made of Dakota Sandstone which was once part of a beach along an ancient seaway 100 million years ago. The pedestal of the hoodoo is Entrada Sandstone that is 160 million years old.
