Ice Cliff Work, Nov '04

Here, Erik and I are setting up the rigging and helping Dr. Erin Pettit's (U-Wash) team install instruments to measure movement, tilt, and other details of how dryland glaciers calve off pieces. This was a really fun group and project; I am disappointed it only lasted two seasons!
Erin, by the way, runs a great summer field-program in the Cascades for high school girls to learn about glaciology and basic mountaineering, "Girls on Ice". At least for 2006 it's free as I believe she received some scholarship money to share. Oh yeah, she just added courses for adults and undergraduates.
