The gallery trip-report begins with Istanbul for various reasons, but the rest of this photo-report is in the chronological order we saw Turkey, starting Sept. 27, 2004 (in Ankara).
We arrived, 3-1/2 weeks later, at Istanbul after flying from Antalya and the southwestern Mediterranean area of that country with its beautiful coastal and island scenes. |
As tourist (and viewer) interest in Istanbul is very high, Old Constantinople/Now Istanbul starts this out-of-control trip report. I hope that visitors check out some photos of the rest of this very varied country, as it's rich in history and beauty and with very warm, welcoming people who go out of their way to help visitors, in this case 2 American women wandering the country in a rental car. It was a great trip, and we never encountered a problem (except for road traffic in Urfa, Antalya, and Istanbul). |
