It was one of those autumn days that Sydney is rightly proud of. Temperate conditions, a breeze to keep the air clear, bright, blue, cloudless skies. Far too good to be at work in fact, but these things (along with an absence of winning Lotto numbers) are sent to try us.

The bright blue skies are reflected from the windows of the buildings in the background giving them a crystal-like appearance and, as if to emphasise the point, the vessel docked at the Darling Harbour terminal today was the Crystal Symphony. (1995, 51,000 tons, 238.1metres by 30.2 metres, 922 passengers and 545 crew, 21 knots, no idea of package prices but given the facilities on board? My bet is "not cheap".)

Edit April 2024: The Crystal Symphony is still kicking around after a refurbishment in 2023. However most of her cruises these days are relatively short hops around Europe. Her sister Crystal Serenity (which I had originally mis-tagged this ship as being) handles the around the world cruises.
