Several days after Hurricane Andrew and after working my tail off all week at Miami International, I was sent down to Tamiami Airport to replace the airport manager who needed a day off. The Coast Guard had a busy operation going where the HH-65's were ferrying water and supplies to devastated areas further south in the county and the C-130's and the CASA-212 were bringing in more supplies from further north.
This CASA-212 was leased from CASA for use at Air Station Miami for hauling supplies and personnel to the aviation detachment at NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
