Tinkering with the idea of rearranging the switches on the left side of the 914 dashboard to make room for a Motometer Thermometer https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/145594864, but as my good friend Bernie said, "These are 'race cars', why would you need an ambient thermometer in the car?" and he's right! I may have to reconsider...
For the rest of us, I'm beginning to like this particular switch configuration the best https://pbase.com/image/147856439 as oppose to the original twin-ignition factory switch location https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/147856438 (this is the famous #40 Le Mans Winning 914-6 GT)
By the way, I do realize none of the 914-6 GT's, either dealer or factory built ever had one of these gauges installed, but I think this is a very cool gauge to have somewhere in the dash of a six https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/143928839. I may also have the chrome bezel replated so that it matches the other VDO factory gauges https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/147856435
When I find more time, I'll try to 'Photoshop' the Celcius Motometer gauge between the switches on the left side of the dash in this photo https://pbase.com/image/147856439 of the 914-6 GT.
