Other Samples - Engine Lid / Mesh Material

I thought to also post here some sample photos of other factory GT engine lid covers, particularly the 'wire-mesh' material. Make no mistake, these are samples of the factory original material used by the 914-6 GT race cars.

If you look closely, a 'common-thread' is seeing how the factory used an interior-trim 'sheet-metal screw' instead of a threaded-fastener. The fastest fastener (no punt intended) to install would obviously be a 'sheet-metal screw' and NOT a threaded bolt and nut---so I do understand the logic here. Just about every single factory built 914-6 GT engine lid I have personally inspected over the years uses a 'sheet-metal' screw.

In my opinion, anyone telling you that what I just explained to be 'not correct', is only disagreeing for their own self-serving purpose. What are the odds the most factory 914-6 GT cars, at different points in their life, all received the same wrong sheet-metal screws to secure the wire-mesh in their respective subsequent restorations? It makes no sense to me, I don't buy it, and I'm defiantely not a subscriber!
