Peter Maass, The Washington Post

Sarajevo, Bosnia

The first trial for war crimes took place in Sarajevo. Bosnian police arrested a Serbian soldier who stopped at the wrong check point and after talking to him for a while, he confessed to doing what most of the Chetnik soldiers were doing: murder, rape, looting. So they had a trial. The media were all there. After the first day we went to a bar near the courthouse. I think Peter has apricot juice or perhaps water in that glass. The beer available one drank to be a good sport, and I don't think there was anything stronger.
