Nearly all of these helmets were proven to be useless once the industry initiated testing. Jim Gentes introduced the Giro and it's been safe to whack your head ever since. The first time I crashed with a Giro on I couldn't believe it. I realized that in the past I'd been missing the experience because it was a lights out event. But with the Giro I felt like I'd fallen onto a big pillow.
