Fresh Wasps

Every summer the wasps try to nest in the door gap of a pickup truck parked out back.
Usually they fail because I take out the nest before anything happens, but not this year.
I spotted these newly emerged wasps testing out their wings and getting oriented to their new world!
Soon they’ll be working to expand the nest and helping with brood.

I have these guys, Polistes dominula, nesting over the front door. They don't bother me, and I don't bother them. They are not aggressive, and really, you have to really aggravate them to get them to sting! V
