20051016 / All Saints

Orthodox Church of All Russian Saints / Burlingame, CA

I was reminded that I have been posting pictures on pbase for three
years as of today. Some of those photos still survive here and here
if you are interested, but this is one of my favorites. It was taken with
a pocket-sized Olympus point and shoot film camera. It helped me
decide to invest in digital. 20041016

I'm with Lucie, tho I'd love to see the done in blue with this angle.

Congrats on 3 years!

Both are beautiful, I have a light preference for the colour shot, because the blue is so beautiful and intense.

I like the b&w shot, mainly for the interesting angle. Good shot.

I can't decide which shot I like better - the blue and gold in the other is such a dramatic contrast to the starkness. Yet .. this one, the angle, the simplicity of b&w leaves it open to a great deal of interpretation and imaginings. When I look at this, I can hear someone saying "This way .. go this way" The crosses at the top pointing and directing.
I was surprised you'd been posting for three years - and wondered then how long I'd been around. Four years in December was the first post, under another named gallery, which oddly when I signed up for a paid account, pbase wouldn't let me have the old name. ::sigh::

I like this even better in b&w, Chris. You can see the pigeon prevention spikes nice & clearly.
