20050603 / Sloped Low

Far From Home / Dirtville, CA

The day after defeat.

Only the fair-weather turn in their colors before the
last bell tolls. The faithful bring the brim down low,
take a deep breath and settle in for the ride. You either
go down with the ship or you crest the next wave and
ride right into the horizon. Mind the Diesel fumes and
whatever you have to Wade through, Soldiers. Like it says
between the beer commercials, "Win or Go Home."

Make me.

The Old English 'D' is technically a Detroit Tigers logo,
but those from the 'D' have elevated it to universal status. A
symbol for the entire city.

Lovely contrast here. Love the D.

Looks like we're both brim down low guys - chin up, shoulders back, cold eyed defiance, its the way forward.

Good eye, Chris. Voted.

Cool shot - like the colors and how you shot with him looking down.

Depicts the mood very well! Great picture!

Like the image, the cap and t-shirt merge well with the bg to form one interesting shot!
Guest 04-Jun-2005 15:14
I really like how your bowed cap micks the shape of the image in the back. Cool,Chris!

Good luck to your boys tonight! I like the play on words and the bowed head.

Is dirtville like Mudville? Did mightly Casey strike out? Nice colors and comp.

umm... I don't get all the sporting refs, but this is a great shot - interesting background and conveys the mood well. I think they lost (whoever "they" are) - right...?

hehehehhe, thats okay Chris, at least your not a raptors fan!! hey Rasheed promised a game 7, so no worries
JeremyGood04-Jun-2005 06:11
Maybe I'm the only one who will catch the Diesel and Wade references.
But as Rasheed says, "they'll send out some good guys for Game 6 and the Pistons will surely win. They want a Game 7, it's the only Series going."
I believe the Pistons win Game 7 pretty easily.

this is one cool shot!

You capture heart and color with eloquence Chris. The glowing cheeering color offset by sour disappointment is very poignant. The Big "D" and repeatitive shaped ear that heard defeat are true remarkble insight on your part. This is the epitome of real PJ.Top marks for a man that makes a home run with style everytime for the team.Vote for genuine excellence !!!

Oh ya have me smiling so much here, Michigan surfer boy. Agree with you 100% ..
Wear that logo proud.. and that attitude is why I still - every year without fail - root for the Lions. People who switch teams just because they want to cheer on a winner have no heart.

so .. what now? baseball? lol
Susanne04-Jun-2005 01:28
I love your SP, Though I wished we could see a little of your face too! The background is very fitting with this baseball cap and of course we all love Detroit! I flew into Detroit when I came to America.
