20050521 / Fenced

McAbee Beach / Monterey, CA

Suspending disbelief, you can convince yourself that
the whole world is a human zoo. On what side of the
cage do you reside?

Inside the cage - its for your own safety (well thats what I like to think anyway). Wonderful detail on the links in the fence there Chris.

There is always a way around a fence, be it physical or mental so I choose depending on my mood!

I woke up in the morning and found the correct definition for (d).
It's "TRAPPED"

Fences are built by adult paranoia, convenience, and greed. When I was a child they were invisible, climbable or below my imagination.I miss the world without tidy boxes, chain link ,picket and no trespassing.Someday I would like to be God without borders.

Sparky brainworx Chris!

I prefer to think I'm in one of those wild animal parks with lots of open space. At least I don't have to hunt for my food.
Nice shot, I would have liked to see a companion shot where you focused on the background.

A good question and great thoughts below. I like the light effect on the links, very nice to focus on them and have the rest of the world in Dof.

Nice image and imagery. Tough to focus on chain link .. beautifully done, Chris. Sometimes I think we are both fenced or chained and free. And even when we are the watchers rather than the watched, there is still that restless pacing you see the big cats do when their desire is far outside their cage.

Both sides are caged and watching.. don't you know that? the ones who think they are free.. are probably as bound as the ones who know they are not.
