20041022 / Round Here

Self Portrait / Porchstep

Step out the front door like a ghost
into the fog where no one notices
the contrast of white on white.

And in between the moon and you
the angels get a better view
of the crumbling difference between wrong and right.

I walk in the air between the rain,
through myself and back again.
Where? I don't know
Maria says she's dying.
Through the door, I hear her crying
Why? I don't know

Superb - I like it all, the slant of the frame, the grain, the B&W - it's all good!

I love that song by the Crows.. so perfect..
Great pic, Chris.. very moody. The slant is a fantastic addition to the image.. giving a sense of off-kilter.. so thought-provoking, this one is. Nice grain added to the b&w..

You do great SP's, Chris

I am struck, as always, by how well you blend image and words. The photo on its own is powerful - and, as I said once before, the way you do self portraits reminds me of your poetry. Very, very strong imagery. I like the darkness, the texture. Wonderful work, Chris. :)
