I believe in a south westerly gale they can happily roll over to Wemyss Bay and back but punching headlong into a sea coming from Gourock is a different matter.
The 'Hard Chine' design of their hull behind the bow propeller causes a 'slamming' motion which almost stops the ferry in its tracks. They don't seem to be 'good sea boats' Thats my theory anyway

Apparently she'd tried twice to tie up at Wemyss Bay. Any idea why they couldn't use Gourock?
