A bushfire that started around 6.30 p.m. January 10th (2007) and spread through 2,000 hectares
of scrub, vines, forest and is nearly under control as I took this shot (from a very safe distance). Earlier we could actually see the flames from our front gate, and whole trees burst into flame in one puff! The day the fire began the temperature was 40-Celsius and strong gale force winds soon had it scorching everything in its path, including cattle, sheep, fencing, outhouses and at least one house & possibly 3 homes.
