The main picture is of what's commonly called "Totem Poles" its correct name is Melaleuca decussata. The blooms are on a tall upright shrub. The 2nd picture is of wild scabious which grows everywhere along the road verges and throughout the garden and unpaved pathways & even turn up with pots and hanging baskets if I miss the young seedling.
