Pandanus

Clifton Beach, tropical north Queensland

This was the only pandanus we saw in the area, though we may have missed others.
This pair grows near the look-out on the trail that follows the shoreline through
from Cairns to Palm Cove, and is just across the road and a bit to the right on the trail from where we were staying.

So few up there but huge numbers on the Sunshine Coast for sure. They are fascinating trees.

The recent past cyclones may have caused havoc in the more open areas. The Zamioculcas Zamifolia (ZZ Plant) at it's feet seems to be thriving though !!
