"Shady Lady"

At home in the rose garden.

A floribunda in the true sense. Medium sized, decorative blooms in varying sized clusters on a plant that is fairly upright from 90cm to 1.2m. The colour is
rose madder (rose pink) shading ivory to the centre, the blooms are sharply fragrant, while the foliage is glossy light green.
Often grown as a street rose throughout the city of Adelaide. Bred in France and released in 1987

That name's a bit unfair, they seem quite well mannered, civilised and quite upstanding citizens of the rose community to me! I do like the way you've captured the bee within the centre of one of the blooms. Just by coincidence I was just talking to someone this very afternoon about the decline in the bee population and the potential effect that it'll have on agriculture. As a result of that I'm always more than happy to see our striped buzzing little friends spreading the love, as it were. I like the angle of the shot, with the deep, green leaves cradling the blooms.

The light is absolutly wonderful and dimensional from the left to the right here. Gorgeous soft red with fine layers of cluster and in great details, Yvonne. V+++ PS. Totally agreed with your comment on Christine's old HK photo. Is a pity I am still could not escape here within these few years !
