The Qutb Minar is to Delhi what the Eiffel Tower is to France. Only this is over 1000 years old, and
has stood despite numerous earthquakes and wars. I try to imagine the period at which this would
have been built, with kings and jungles and just greenery everywhere.
This was taken from near the Jawarharlal Nehru University side, where there is a huge stretch of
forest between the road and the monument. It was strange when we stopped to take a photo, when
another car also stopped and another photographer got out with the same camera and a 300mm zoom lens.
We just smiled at each other and knew this was a great spot to shoot the monument.
A little mathematics. What are the odds of two cars stopping within 3 minutes of each other with a
photgrapher with a Canon Digital Rebel camera and a 300mm lens in each? FYI - Delhi is the city with
the most cars in India.
