Shot in the kitchen of an historic farm in the Old Bethpage
Restoration museum. On this very hot midsummer day an open
fire was burning to the left where this summer's interns
prepared the dinner for their good-bye party. They had spend
fourteen days on this farm under 17th century conditions,
getting up before sunrise, maintaining the fields, vegetables
and life-stock.
I bounced a flash off the white wall behind me and snapped
this candid shot while she was telling us about the joys of
17th century farm life.
She also got some fame during the hilarious
Conan O'Brien's visit to Old Bethpage and Old Time Baseball.
The picture incidentally won a first price at the 2004 Old Bethpage
photo competition...
