Acadia National Park opened the day after the government shutdown ended. Understandably, but sadly, Jordan Pond House was not able to reopen that quickly. Afternoon tea and popovers, on the lawn in good weather, have been a tradition at Jordan Pond House since the late 1870s and with my wife and me since the late 1970s. This is the lawn where lunch and tea are served:
