Bristle Cone Pine

The intense and saturated colors in this image is due to the fact that we used Fuji Velvia transparency to shoot this image at that time ( I had with me my Canon 1Ds but I damaged the shutter curtain in front of the sensor while trying to clean it. Boy! was I upset with myself!!!) Fortunately, I ALWAYS bring a backup camera to any trip. Now I have another digital backup body. Being a "purist" Nature and Wild Life photographer, I like my colors as close to reality as possible. I do not care if they do not "have the punch" or saturation obtained with Velvia. Also, a circular polarizer in the lens contributed to the dark blue in the sky.

Very surreal feeling on this one. I would have loved to see this picture without people in it. I think they take away from the feeling. Just my opinion.

This is a real eye catcher.
