Red Tail

Sheep Creek

Was out driving around today up in the mountains, giving my feet a rest from all the hiking, and working lately.
I found this guy sitting in a tree. I got a couple shots off before it took off. Then he kept circling around above me, along with a second one. They were screetching, I wondered if there was a nest nearbye. But it is almost fall, I wouldn't think they would be nesting now. It was still fun to see.

Great shot. For me, flying birds are one of the hardest animals to expose because they are usually backlighted by the sky. You did an excellent job. What was your technique?
