The weather gurus were calling for snow on Saturday. Forecasts varied in the amounts and I was again hoping the ones with the higher accumulation totals would win. It really looked like it would be at least a 1 loaf alert. I headed up to Harry's on Friday since he's at 3200' elevation up in Lake Toxaway. We woke up to rain Saturday morning and the radar wasn't looking very promising - not much precip left to fall it seemed. We figured our only shot was to head up to the Parkway via Hwy 215. A few flakes began mixing in before we left and I thought for sure we'd see accumulating snow by the time we got to Balsam Grove - nope, and the temp was still 37. But as we climbed 215 past FR140, the temps dropped and we spotted snow on the trees higher up. I stopped along 215 for this shot.
