The rain continued to fall all the way to the Cable Cove boat ramp. We sat in the car for a while and when the rain let up a bit, we got out and began inflating my Sevylor. Then Harry pulled his car down so we could get his canoe off. We both figured the rain was about to stop, so we loaded the boats and set off. The plan was just to paddle across to the Smokies side and explore the Hazel Creek finger of the lake.
