It had already eaten most of the legs and was taking the
carapace to the shelter of rocks to finish the meal. Once there,
it put it on the ground and hammered it with its beak to break
it up. Then it swallowed the pieces, shell and all. (The crab
was covered with little snails hitching a ride.)
