White-tailed Kites

Oyster Bay Regional Park, San Leandro, CA

The male had been offering this "mouse" to its mate on perch or in flight for over two hours. I think they haven't got the hang of it. No exchange occurred. It's necessary for her to take food in flight from the male as her nourishment while brooding and tending the young in the nest.
