These are the fruits of bracted twinberry (also called bearberry honeysuckle or bush honeysuckle), Lonicera involucrata (Richardson) Spreng. Native in western North America and Mexico, it is also used in landscaping because of its large, attractive leaves and involucre-and-fruit displays. --Ruth Moorhead
