Construction circa 1906. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) had this reception hall constructed and it was named after an old hall which had been constructed by King Mongkut (Rama IV). After the absolute monarchy was abolished, this became the nation's first Parliament building. In recent years the interior has been refurbished and in open almost daily. The interior -- where photography is not allowed -- is truly stunning.
