Dec 11: Lamp and its shadow

Something that drove me nuts. You'd be watching an old horror flick when, as if by magic, you could see a shadow of a candle that was supposedly lighting the way... "what's casting the shadow?" I'd yell at the TV. Yet here's an angle-poise lamp, cleverly defying the laws of physics and casting its own shadow. Spooky huh?

Yeah, and I always liked how we could see people in the pitch-black darkness after the candle blew out!
