Today, I found one of our chickens had died. Alas poor Molly. She was about 279 in chicken years so it's not a huge surprise, but a sad discovery all the same. It looked as if she'd sat down in the sun to warm her feathers, as they do, and just passed away. It's a victory though that we'd kept her safe from foxes all this time and gave her a good life. In exchange she us laid a good egg. Please raise your glasses... to Molly!
