My Olympus Trip 35 minus it's top and bottom plates. Since pretending to paint it's more llustrious brother, my 35RC a while ago, I've been toying with the idea of doing it for real, and what better way to practice than to paint the Trip! It's also getting a new set of leathers as those splodges of non-drip gloss have been driving me nuts for about 15 years. I will of course show you how it turns out. In the meantime, I'll bore you with how clever this little thing is. Think about it. It's an auto exposure camera, and it uses no batteries. I'll say that again. It uses no batteries. With the top removed you can see just how it all works. All very clever and entirely mechanical. As long as the light meter cell keeps working, there's not much that can go wrong.
