Jan 18: Earning a beer

I felt good enough to venture out today to get a new valve for the leaky loo. My face still looks very raw, but the swelling is all but gone. I'm not sure I should be driving whilst under the influence of my prescription drugs, but I managed to avoid the roller skating elephants and a zebra on a surfboard. Ray was right - those elephants are on 'blades...! Notice how a simple job of fitting a valve is always complicated by the hassles of plumbing... stop-cocks deep in inaccesable cupboards and working around previous owners bodges. Anyway, job done and beer earned!

Yes I can tell your spirits are up. When it comes to fixing things I am just a looky loo and leaking lous. Good of ya mate to do the deed there. Have another beer.

This is perfect! That's an excellent use for a spanner(?)/pipe wrench.

This is good, but am a little disappointed you could get neither the elephant nor the Zebra as your PotD - both would be so well suited to monochrome :-)

Novel use for a basin wrench! I'll have to remember that.
