Dec 31: Trials and P mode

PotD year 3 day 1!

We were up on the hill, taking pictures of the derelict mine buildings in the late afternoon sunshine. A kid was out messing on a trials bike trying, and failing, to ride over the granite boulders which litter the area. I was keeping a close eye on him - if he came near us or the dogs, he was in big trouble. Suddenly, he rode up onto this ridge, silhouetted against the sky. I fired off a quick shot. Still in M mode - no time to meter. Blown sky. I had maybe 2 seconds to get the picture. Switch to P mode and fire again. Perfect. For all my talk of the joys of old manual cameras, sometimes modern technology can help and you get a shot like this!

other sizes: small medium original auto
